Bullfrogs and Lizards

Bullfrogs and Lizards is about the adventures of Lucy and Larry Lizard and Betty and Bill Bullfrog.

Set in the early 20th century, they live in a former gold mining town in north western Victoria, Australia.

Their world is a simple but amazing place, full of horses, greasy piglets, carts, thieving magpies, fire and flood.

Seasons 1 – 3 of Bullfrogs are based on the childhood of David’s grandfather, Edward John, who grew up in Melbourne but regularly went to visit his grandparents who lived near Charlton and Wedderburn in Victoria ,which is Dja Dja Wurrung country. He told these stories to David and his sister when they were young.

Season 4, coming soon in early 2023, is going to be based on David’s childhood in suburban Melbourne in the 1980’s. See you soon in the Milk Bar!

Originally from Melbourne, David is an audio producer, composer, musician working in audio for over 26 years. Catching the love of storytelling from his grandfather Edward John, the series is based on the stories told to him as a child.

Bullfrogs and Lizards is David’s first adventure as a podcast presenter and storyteller and he’s loving it.
